There is a fun qal going on right now at Blossom Heart Quilts blog.  I just love this modern font and it is so nice and easy to cut and sew.

This past week I have been working on the Quick as a Fox quilt along from a blog called The Sewing Loft.
I wanted to get started on it when it was first offered , but I got an idea stuck in my head that I wanted to use some fabric with foxes in it.  Recently I did find some fabric that I thought was suitable.  I have one block left to make and the final instructions for assembly will be available next week.  One of the block patterns is applique.  She tells how to make an applique using a page out of a color book.  She gave a pattern for a fox and I printed it out for size and then tweaked it to resemble the foxes that are in my fabric.   I am not trying to plagiarize the fabric company.  I just wanted to make one fox block for one little quilt for personal use.  So here are a couple of blocks that I made and I will put the link to my flickr album here too.

I was very enthused about the Something New Sampler quilt along.  I had a lot of fun with trying new things that I hadn't done before.  She had several different settings to choose from and that was another fun part of this quilt along.  I knew I wanted to choose one that used all of the blocks in it.  This setting was really easy and it is new and modern.  I took a fmq class on dsm recently and learned some good ideas for quilting.  This project turned out to be a Sew lot of fun fun fun.  It is all done now and the binding is on , too!

I just realized that I haven't taken a picture since I totally finished it.   But since I was adding a picture to this post,  I will put this one that shows it nearly done.  It still needed a little more quilting and the binding.
My walking foot snagged the sashiko stitches, so I am going to fix those snagged ones with a needle and thread.

Scrappy Trips blocks

I have a good start on the Bonnie Hunter's Scrappy Trips quilt blocks.  I am using some of the older fabrics in my stash.  They are the floral calico prints that were popular quite a few years ago.
Pinned to the design wall.  I worked on it some more today and have 12 more finished.  I hope to make a queen size quilt.

More Ben Franklin blocks

Eric Homemade blog's Benjamin Franklin Mystery quilt,  blocks 1-7.
BF block 8.  It is a mystery , so I don't know how many more blocks there will be.
