FAL project #9 finished

#9 Planet Patchwork mystery.    I pieced two left over pieces of batting together and got this quilt sandwiched this morning.  Decided to quilt it with a simple cross hatch.  Now I can cross it off my list!

Finish Along, another quilt finished

#4 Around The Block.  This was a qal from earlier this year given by Patchwork Posse.  This was another fun one.  I bought 2 bundles of fat quarters (batik) at Joann's a couple of years ago and also some yardage of the fabric line.  I used those fabrics for this qal.  Nice and bright.  The backing is also batik from a different fabric line.  I thought it would be nice to have the entire quilt in batik.  I used 80/20 batting.   I used some of the quilting designs I had learned from the Building Blocks quilt that I did this year too.  The variegated thread I used to quilt with looks real nice on some of the blocks and not so great on some of them.   I am pretty happy to have this one done now.

Sewing Machine blocks for the Quilters Garden block swap

This is the block I will sent to the swap:
the pink fabric turned out too bright in the picture.  The bg is actually green, not grayish as the picture looks.

This is the block I will keep for the row quilt.:

Finished BOM from 2012

This was a bom from the Stroll the Block group.  I did some large running stitches to hand baste it before I started quilting on my sewing machine.  I usually just spray baste the backing and use pins too.  It really helped to keep things from shifting to have the thread basting.  I will be doing that now with the larger quilts that I attempt to quilt.  An interesting note about this bom is that 12 members of the STB group signed up to design and write a pattern for this bom.  I signed up for June and did the sunflower block.

#8 Fall Colors bom.  Done.
