Participating in Erik Homemade Mystery quilt

This is Block 1 of the new Benjamin Franklin Mystery quilt.  Erik is including information about Franklin with each clue.  This will be fun and interesting.  It sounds like it will be slow paced so we will have plenty of time to make the blocks and keep up with it.

Scarecrow quilt did get finished

It was the Dorinda Mystery Quilt that prompted me into starting a blog.  I did finish it earlier this year and realized that I should have included a picture here on my blog.  I put each section together qayg as the mystery unfolded.  When the mystery was over then I put on the borders and the binding is the same fabric as the border plaid.  I usually think of home made scarecrows wearing old plaid shirts.
So here is a picture of the back.  It is kinda rumpled up in order to get more of it in the picture.  I didn't have anyone around to hold it up.  It is 78x95".     This is the most interesting and unusual mystery quilt that I have ever participating and I thank the Dorinda Blog for offering it.  Thank you, Thank you,  Thank you.

Bags for family

I have been making an over the shoulder bag for family members the last couple of years.  I have a couple other patterns that I use sometimes but this one seems to be the favorite.  The strap is long enough to drape the bag from the opposite shoulder so that it doesn't keep sliding off the shoulder.  These are pictures of a few of them.

blogging lapse. Now it is 2012.

I did continue with quilting all year even though keeping up with blogging didn't happen.  I did start out 2012 with the New Years Day Mystery quilt from Planet Patchwork.  Here is a picture of it.  It was fun and easy and a good start to a new year.
