Here is a teaser for #10. It is for the technique, "folded insert". I really liked the link that was given for this idea when the clue was posted. When I went to Joann's I saw the book for this and used a coupon! The only sewing is around the edges of the block. All the fabrics are folded and stacked up. I will put more pictures in another time.
I have not done #9 yet. I am nearly done with 7 & 8. So I am making progress a little slowly right now but I am determined to catch up.

Here is the paper pieced part for rule 8. It is a six inch block. So I will put some other things with it. I hope to get caught up soon.

Dorinda Mystery, rule 3 done
Rule 3. I broke it. "Use a color or fabric you would never normally use."
I plan on putting that idea into another section of the quilt. The 'technique'
was embroidery. I did that. A row of machine embroidered young scarecrows.
I wanted to fit in as many as I could. I put some shamrock fabric to represent
March. The white fabric I am placing in each block will have something added
to it later.
I guess I didn't follow rule 2 correctly because I made it 8x12 but made it to put beside rule 1. I can't turn it because I put
pictures on it and they would be sideways if I turned it. So rule 3 would fit above or below.... instead of on the side. I am
hoping this won't cause major problems with the next additions. I have decided that I will MAKE them FIT!! lol.

UFO #6
I did finish #6 on my UFO list. Well, the top is all put together and the borders are on. So it isn't completely done. I am happy for now to call it done for now and hope to quilt and bind it this year.
This is the #6 on my list, it is the Village BOM 2010, from the Stroll The Block group.
A different building for each month of the year. Each designed by different members of the group.

Scarecrow 2
I printed a picture of my scarecrow onto an inkjet fabric sheet. He is celebrating valentines day. Betty Boop is modest so she is looking away because he is in his undershorts! Fussy cut valentine fabric in upper corner. The hexagon flower is handstitched by me from a kit given to me at the Heart to Hand Quilt Store in Oregon City. The kit included the cuts of fabric and the paper shapes for English paper piecing. I enjoyed the English paper piecing. I want to do more of it. I appliqued the flower onto the bg fabric. I haven't sewn on the heart button yet because I may make a yoyo to put there.

Bunnyhill Squirrel bom
I am off to a rocky start on this bom from bunnyhill. I am attempting to make the entire quilt out of wool fabrics. The only problem I have run into is the square in a square blocks. The problem is the seams where the corners are folded over. They are THICK. So I held the steam iron on them a long time. (I pressed the seams open.)
Why did I use white embroidery thread? I was thinking he was holding balloons. Oh my.
They are leaves so brown, greean or black would have been a better choice.
I was about to give up on it last night. But now that the block is done I am liking it.
I love the way she has given the entire layout of the quilt already. I am starting to make the rest of the blocks. Then I will only have to do the appliques when she gives the patterns for them.

Rule 1 completed
This is my starting point of the Scarecrow quilt. Four ordinary 'flying geese'. The scarecrow is machine embroidery and he is weak in the knees from reading my UFO List. I sewed together the corners trimmed from the flying geese and made them into rows under the scarecrow. You might think I made a mistake because they aren't all lined up but I actually did that on purpose. When I was done I got to thinking they would have looked better ALL lined up. lol. It will stay this way and I am ready to move on.... to the next level. lol.

Under Construction
What is under construction these days? Everything?
1. A new year.
2. This blog
3. Ideas!
What kind of Ideas? Hopefully the ideas never stop. Thoughts and plans for each day. Including
time for my hobby of sewing and quilting. I have many quilt project ideas. Some have been
completed! Many are in stages of completion. WISP is a term that is quite popular with quilters
these days.
Soon I will be including some pictures here. Maybe some links to my favorite blogs. And some of
those "buttons" to take you to blogs that have fun projects to participate in.
